Once you have what feels like a smoothly flowing written narrative, it is time to transform it into a storyboard. A few important thoughts. Storyboarding is an organized collection of individual sketches (or moments) experienced by your character(s) typically along a walk or pathway. Use 5”x7” cards. One sketch per card or page or frame seen on a computer. As individual pages, pin them in sequence on a wall. Each sketch may be accompanied with supplemental notes such as: type and angle of view; aromas; surrounding sounds or sounds underfoot; temperature here as opposed to back under the shade tree; and on it goes. With the sketches and notes you develop an understanding of the experiential whole person. This goes to Rae’s approach to writing as cinematic. She allows her characters to live out their lives in her mind as she watches and records their experiences and emotions.
